Jewish connection??? But of course! Today is the 31st day of the Omer so that means that Shavous is only…hang on…counting on my fingers… … … … 18 days away. And we eat dairy on Shavuos 🙂

I love Shavuot. I haven’t really practiced Mitzvot since leaving my parents’ home, but food traditions – I do practice. 😉
Since I prefer dairy dishes to meat anyway, Shavuot is a great time to experiment with all kinds of quiches and pastas with butter/ cheese sauces and all the good stuff that would normally be considered as a side dish.
um….at first i must admit i thought this was some kind of announcement….
Yes, it was an announcement about FREE ICE CREAM!!!
the funny thing–to me–about this promotion is that i thought pregnant women were advised NOT to eat soft serve ice cream! something about machines not being regularly cleaned and the higher storage temperature as breeding grounds for listeria . . . .
bring on the mint chocolate chip instead!
