Yes. How could you possibly not know that? Or perhaps you thought that shouts of “Show your [stuff]” and the receiving of beads were unrelated? After all, correlation is not always causation. Although in this case, it is.
Having never been to New Orleans, my only experience with anything resembling Mardi Gras was the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Disneyland, entitled “Party Gras.” There were no shouts of “show your **anything**. (See here: http://d23.disney.go.com/articles/031609_NF_FS_DisneylandCelebra.html)
