Mathematically-Challenged

Sunday, 14 March 2010

Leave it to a bunch of brainiacs who can take a mathematical equation and make it into a quasi-holiday.

Pi Day.

With all of the talk about pi(e) on Twitter and Facebook, I suddenly had a hankering for pie.

And that’s when it all started…

  1. FrumeSarah Really thinking I need to bake a pie this afternoon. I need a nap, but might throw one together upon waking…
  2. imabima @FrumeSarah YOU are going to throw together a pie? No offense but did someone hijack ur account 🙂 I was thinking of buying one… #dayofpi
  3. FrumeSarah @imabima is this a dare??? Just put the pie in the oven. Blog post will be up later. “Hijink my account…” Harumph! #dayofpi

Was that a dare? Or just a passing remark on my perceived lack of culinary expertise? Either way, it was all the motivation needed to get me into the kitchen.

  1. FrumeSarah Anticipated Pi(e) Completion? 8 minutes. #dayofpi. (Take that, @imabima)
  2. imabima @FrumeSarah ooh them’s fightin’ words, kiddo. Where’s MY pie?? 🙂

It does look very yummy… but (coming from an engineer) it does seem just a little bit like a big cookie in a crust. Might want to more precisely define pie. You know, to a few more decimal places.

Nope. Uses a slightly altered recipe so that the inside of the pie is creamy chocolate.

It is totally a pie 🙂

The Toll house pie looks fabulous. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and back in the day, my gram used to make just about every type of pie imaginable.

    Happy Pi day, indeed!
